Hi, I’m Jorgelina
I grew up in Argentina dreaming of singing — but for a long time, using my voice didn’t feel easy or natural. I was shy, highly sensitive, and my nervous system often felt like it was working against me.
When I began formal vocal training as a teenager, I quickly realised that traditional approaches weren’t enough. I didn’t simply need to “practice more” — I needed a way of learning that worked with my body, nervous system, and lived experience.
Everything changed when I encountered a vocal approach that works at the level of coordination and the nervous system — methods that bring the system into “singing mode,” so the voice can function naturally, with ease and joy.
From that point on, my progress accelerated — and my relationship with singing transformed.
A functional, science-based approach to singing
Over the past 21 years, I’ve completed extensive professional training in contemporary vocal technique, functional voice science, musicality, artistic development, movement, coaching, and somatic education — with a particular focus on how adults actually learn in general, and specifically how to sing.
I am a certified contemporary vocal coach trained in an approach rooted in Speech Level Singing (SLS) principles, through a school led by an SLS graduate. I also hold a Level 6 Diploma in Contemporary Vocals (RSL Awards, UK standard) and am internationally certified as an Artistic Coach.
Alongside my contemporary training, I work deeply with functional and somatic approaches to voice. I am currently completing advanced teaching training in the Rabine Method for Functional Vocal Training (expected completion February 2026) and the Feldenkrais® Practitioner Training (January 2026).
My training spans contemporary technique, functional voice science, artistic development, coaching, and a wide range of somatic and embodied practices, including movement and breath-based disciplines such as Qigong.
I am currently also a Soul Voice® Practitioner in Training, exploring the expressive, emotional, and energetic dimensions of voice work and sound healing.
The Functional Singer
Together, these influences led me to create The Functional Singer — a science-informed, adult-focused method designed to train singers as artists, not just voices.
This work is for adults who are ready to stop fighting their voice — and start working with it.
